Responsibilities

  • Manages full set of accounts according to project accounting treatment and MPERS requirements;
  • Prepares Group Account;
  • Calculates variances from the budget and reports significant issues to the Management;
  • Oversees project accounting functions and reports;
  • Checks and verifies supporting documents prepared by the accounts exec e.g. purchase order (PO);
  • Ensures Delivery notes (DO) / Service reports (SR), certificates of completion (COP) are in place before payments are made;
  • Liaises with respective project personnel on monthly project cost accruals and ensures all accrual amounts are supported with relevant documentation, updates monthly accrual for materials to ensure the accruals are valid;
  • Highlights and reports projects with major variances and projects with losses to person in charge in a timely manner;
  • Ensures key internal controls are effectively maintained and complied with;
  • Ensures financial and management accounts or reports are prepared professionally within deadline;
  • Assists in budget and forecast preparation, monitoring of actual financial performance against budget / forecast with variance analysis for management review;
  • Ensures accounting and tax records are properly kept and reports and filings are done in compliance with accounting and legal regulations, standards, policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for the more complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports;
  • Provides guidance to junior staff on complex accounting entries, reconciliations and analysis;
  • Prepares reviews and approves the complex journal entries, consolidated statements and client carrier reconciliations. Analyses, maintains and reconciles the general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and administrative systems;
  • Key liaison with external auditors and tax agents to meet statutory audit and tax requirements;
  • Has exposure to transfer pricing;
  • Assists in drafting financial policies;
  • Any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirement

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or professional qualification (ACCA /CIMA /CA /CPA /MIA).
  • About 4 – 5 years of experience in accounting field, especially project accounting;
  • Familiar with MPERS;
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures;
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality, highly organized and work well under pressure;
  • Hands on working experience.
